CITY COUNCIL CHAOS: Sheriff Deputies Brawl To Clear BLM Protestors Out of City Council

Black Lives Matter activists stormed City Council this morning during its normal session as protestors yelled chants against Councilman Bobby Henon, calling him a white supremacist and disrupting City Council at the start of its normal Thursday meeting where it passes legislation.

Councilwoman María Quinoñes-Sánchez went on WURD 900 AM to give her thoughts on what happened as deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were given the go-ahead to eject people out of the back of the expansive Council chamber room…

No, what happened here was a deescalation.   Having been on the police advisory committee… what you saw was a deescalation.

During speech time exasperated City Council members praised City Council President Darrel Clarke for keeping a cool head as the shut-it-down protests which have infected just about everything else in Philadelphia have finally crept into Room 400 and threatened to shut down normal operations of City Council including the passage of bills and resolutions on the calendar today.

Here’s how the protestors began their disruption as Clarke tries to start the City Council session…
